HealthyPaKs is a registered non-profit which was started by black African mothers. It is Black- led, Black-focused and black serving with one of our core values being “Nothing about us without us”. Our programming is culturally focused on black people. We endeavor to own our blackness and find solutions right from the grassroots meaning we involve our community members in the decisions we make. Our focus is on elevating Black families, parents, youth, and children both economically and socially while reminding ourselves of the core values of our different yet unique cultures. We serve the black community with respect and integrity and in a way that is holistic and sustainable while providing support to our community members in all areas of life.
Our diversity, Equity and inclusion is demonstrated through our staff, Board of directors and consultants. 70% black, 10% LGBTQ community, 20% Indigenous, among these, we also have members who are living with disabilities. Our goal is to ensure our work is grounded ensuring all marginalized groups can thrive and to do this we ground our work in the lived experiences and expertise of these groups.
