Esther Obotha

President & Chief Executive Officer - HealthyPaKs Canada

Esther Obotha is a quality driven Executive and Community Development professional with over 14 years’ experience working with diverse and vulnerable populations. She is the Founder and Executive Director at HealthyPaKs Canada and serves as a Resolutions Coordinator at one of the largest Social housing organizations in Canada in addition to being a member of Board of directors for a number of non-profits. Esther’s career spans over 14 years of service to the community Services, at 20 years old, she started the Centre for the rehabilitation of drug abusers which was later renamed Hope Rehabilitation Centre. An organization which supported youth who were experiencing addictions in Uganda. Community involvement and development is therefore at the very core of her values.

She holds a Bachelor’s of Commerce Degree in Accounting and Finance and a Community Development Diploma, A youth leadership and professional development certification, she recently just completed a course in Historical, systemic and intersectional anti-racism: From awareness to action from the University of British Columbia. Esther Tutored students at Centennial College for over 5 years. She has excellent leadership skills and has participated on teams during policy analysis and reviews, change management and has spearheaded process improvement for every organization that she has worked with hence bringing an informed approach to the policy table. Her accounting experience across a broad range of industries, with a focus on non-profits and government organizations inform the financial wellbeing of any project she undertakes through responsible, transparent, and diligent management of financial resources.

Chairman of the Board

James is a Ugandan Born leader, Social Worker and Community Engagement Officer. He has a passion for just, equitable, and inclusive community development. James is a member of several mental health initiatives and lead on Healthypaks Mental and Physical Health panel for the Youth.

Lynnete Ahumuza

Secretary of the Board

Lynnete is of African descent, a Lawyer and Community Mobilizer. She is a Volunteer coordinator, immigrant, a Community Organizer, a climate change advocate, and a volunteer to various Toronto organizations. She has a passion for food and nutrition and owns a catering business that Caters delicious African food.

Henry Ssali

Board Member: Global Affairs & Policy Consultation

Henry is an award winning community builder currently completing his doctoral studies at the University of Toronto. His core research interests examine whether policy is loosely managed, and how institutional policies affect street-level bureaucrats. He hold a Master’s degree in Collaborative Specialization in Educational Policy and an Honors Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Toronto. In 2021, he was recognized as an Emerging Black Leader by Civic Action Leadership Foundation for his social justice work and other initiatives.

Juman Abujbara

Board Member - Decent Housing and Social Justice

Juman is a Human rights Lawyer, defender and citizen of the world, having lived on several continents throughout her life.  She is an author and social justice advocate who has lived through the perils of injustice all her life. Her work as a Human rights advocate has seen many staff and tenants in Toronto receive justice and social stability.

Stella Neumbe

Board Member - Violence against Women: Anti Oppression Advocate

Stella is a strategic leader, communications, business transformation, change management and advisor. An economist, Stella provides research, analysis and strategic advice to public & private sector and Black communities on policy, and socio-economic development.
